Nawa Lanka Enterprises supplies vinyl cutting plotters in Sri Lanka for sign makers, print shops, vehicle wrap studios and screen printing businesses. A plotter is a long-term purchase that anchors your production, so we carry three series for different production scales and back them with spare parts.
A vinyl cutting plotter, also called a vinyl cutter, is a computer-controlled machine that uses a sharp blade to cut shapes, letters and designs from self-adhesive vinyl, heat transfer film, reflective tape and other flexible materials. Unlike an inkjet printer, it cuts rather than prints.
Our plotter series compared
The XE Series is our most recommended option for established print shops. The PE Series is a good starting point for new businesses, and the XL Series suits shops doing high-volume fleet graphics or wide-format cutting.
Specifications to check before you buy
- Cutting force: measured in grams. Light vinyl needs about 80 to 150g, reflective film 200 to 300g and sandblast stencil 400g or more. Higher force means a more versatile machine.
- Media width: standard rolls are 500mm, 630mm, 760mm or 1350mm. Match the machine to the roll width you use most.
- Cutting speed: faster speed means faster production, but it must be balanced with blade pressure and material. Cutting too fast on dense vinyl gives ragged edges.
- Blade depth control: accurate depth cuts through the vinyl without cutting the backing liner. Poor depth control is the most common cause of cut-through problems.
Plotter blades and spare parts
The blade matters as much as the machine. We stock replacement blades in several grades and angles, plus:
- Blade holders and carriage assemblies
- Cutting strips, the replaceable groove the blade cuts against
- Pinch rollers and drive rollers
For precision work, Japanese-grade blades give noticeably cleaner cuts. See plotter machines, blades and blade holders, or browse cutters and blades.
Software that works with our plotters
Most vinyl cutters connect by USB or LAN and work with standard cutting software, including:
- SignCut Pro and SignCut X2
- CorelDRAW with a cutting plugin
- Adobe Illustrator with a cutting plugin
- Roland CutStudio
When you buy from us, our team gives guidance on software setup and your first cut file so you can start production quickly.
Plotter machine FAQ
Which vinyl cutting plotter is best for a small shop?
The PE Series is our entry-level machine for small shops cutting stickers, decals and cut lettering. It handles media up to 630mm wide with up to 350g of cutting force.
Which plotter do you recommend for an established print shop?
The XE Series is our most recommended option for established shops. It cuts all standard vinyl types including reflective film, handles media up to 760mm wide and suits medium production volumes.
Which plotter can cut wide vinyl for fleet graphics?
The XL Series is our wide-format machine. It takes media up to 1350mm wide and cuts at up to 1000mm per second, which suits wide vinyl, fleet graphics and high-volume work.
Do you stock plotter blades and spare parts?
Yes. We keep replacement blades in several grades and angles, blade holders, cutting strips, and pinch and drive rollers, so a worn part does not stop your production.
Where can I see a plotter before buying?
Visit our Colombo branch at 63A, Mihindu Mawatha, Colombo 12 for a live demonstration of the PE, XE and XL series. Message us on WhatsApp first to confirm the machine you want to see is available.
